EuroYoung Workshop 2026 Lugano, Switzerland

Hexaly is proud to participate as a Platinum Sponsor of the 6th EUROYoung Workshop 2026, organized by EUROYoung, the forum for early-career researchers within the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO). The workshop will take place October 14–16, 2026, in Lugano, Switzerland, hosted by the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and the Scuola Universitaria Professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI). The event brings together young researchers, academics, and experts from across Europe to exchange ideas, present cutting-edge research, and explore the latest developments in Operations Research.
EUROYoung promotes networking, collaboration, and professional development among the next generation of Operations Research researchers and practitioners. The workshop provides a unique opportunity for participants to engage with leading experts through plenary talks, technical presentations, and networking activities, all set in the inspiring surroundings of Lugano, one of Switzerland’s most beautiful lakeside cities.
As a Platinum Sponsor, Hexaly is excited to support the Operations Research community and engage with talented young researchers from across Europe. We look forward to demonstrating how Hexaly Optimizer extends traditional Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) to solve large-scale, real-world optimization problems in routing, scheduling, packing, clustering, and beyond.

Hexaly, The Next-Generation MIP Solver
Théo Bordillon, Optimization Scientist, Hexaly
Wednesday October 14th, 18:30 – 19:00, Sponsor night
Hexaly Optimizer is the next-generation MIP solver. Its modeling interface is nonlinear and set-oriented. In a sense, Hexaly APIs unify and extend modeling concepts from mixed-linear programming, nonlinear programming, constraint programming, and black-box optimization.
Under the hood, Hexaly combines exact and heuristic optimization methods, such as branch-and-bound, automatic Dantzig-Wolfe reformulation, column and row generation, propagation, local search, direct search, and surrogate modeling techniques. Regarding performance benchmarks, Hexaly distinguishes itself from leading solvers by delivering scalable solutions for Routing, Scheduling, Packing, Clustering, and Location problems.
This presentation introduces Hexaly’s set-based modeling formalism and highlights its scalability for large instances, while explaining how the solver automatically leverages state-of-the-art exact and heuristic techniques to address real-world optimization challenges.
